22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labour, yet

What I shall choose I cannot tell.” Philippians 1

23 For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better”   Philippians 1

The above quoted verses are the words of Apostle Paul. A state of halting between two opinions is not peculiar to him. It is the plight of every man. A choice is made many times a day. Each decision making is a hard task that should be undertaken. To define life as a place filled with choices is not an exaggeration.

One thing about making a choice is the fact that each choice has effects; many times, the effects are in multiples.

For instance, making a choice about who to spend the rest of your life with is with many effects. If you are a man, you must choose a lady amongst so many you meet daily, always or once in a while.

In the same vein, as a young lady you must make a choice among those young men who meet you in a way or the other, most especially those who seek your hand in marriage. In some cultures, a woman can woo a man in whom she has interest to be her husband.

Choosing who to marry has multiple effects but let us consider only two of them.

  1. Your choice of a partner has a strong role to play in your future happiness or sadness. The words of Prophet Moses to the people of God, Israel, go thus,

I call heaven and earth as witness today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”   Deuteronomy 30:19.

Do you know that marriage partnership can herald any of the two opposites in a person’s life? Choice of a wrong marriage partner can cause your early death while a choice of the right fellow can be a factor in your living a long and happy life. The same choice can be a blessing in every sense of the word or a curse as the case may be.

A Choice!

That is the reason you must NOT rush into marriage so that you will not rush out with multiple wounds. There is no way you will rush into marriage and not suffer wounds before you rush out. After nursing the wounds until well healed, the scar will remain indelible forever. Do you want this? Therefore, go into it with the lone Match Maker (God) leading you all the way.

  1. The second effect is contained in the latter part of Deut. 30:19 that reads, “…that both you and your descendants may live.”

This spells it out that as your choice has effect on you, it has on your children after you. If you unluckily got married to an unrepentant wicked man/woman, the tendency is that your children will have a wicked man/woman as father/mother. However, if you have a righteous man/woman as husband/wife, your children will a caring, loving and an understanding father/mother they can be proud of.

Are you a single person looking for a life partner? Do so with the help of the only Match Maker, that is God. Do not expect a perfect person as your would-be life journey-mate, but watch for a right one. The coming together of the two of you will be a perfect match. You can make up for his/her weakness and vice versa.

Note this phrase, “The happiest woman is not the one who married the best man but makes the best out of the one she married.”

Have you been attached to someone but joy and peace are elusive? Jesus Christ is one who can turn your situation around for the best. Attach yourself to Him. Surrender your life to Him. Invite Him to be the Lord and Saviour of your soul forever. He knows what to do and ready to do it in His own way and time.

Doing so is a positive choice that will affect your life and those of your children, now and in the future. Do not run your life with your own human wisdom, be filled with Holy Spirit also known as the Spirit of Christ and He will direct you into taking right steps. Henceforth, your choices will start to affect you and your children positively.

Stay blessed and prepared for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember to read your Holy Bible daily.

Hospitality 2   Leave a comment

“The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one-hundred
And thirty years,… and they have not attained to the days of
The years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”   Genesis 47:9. NKJV. New King James Version of the Holy Bible.

The above are the words of Jacob whose name was change to Israel in the Holy Bible. He was a son of Isaac. Jacob was the grandson of Abraham. The right mental attitude of the man Jacob, to see himself as a person who was on pilgrimage on earth was in his blood it is hereditory.

That is the reason I will like to bring in the story of Abraham to analyse the things involved in genuine hospitality and its rewards. This is also for the purpose of clarity and understanding.

In Genesis chapter 18, “in the heat of the day, Abraham lifted his eyes and looked and behold; three men were standing by him.”   Verse two (a-b).

These men stood by him a few meters away. How did he handle their affairs to be hospitable?
He was available. He used himself. He was the originator of this hospitality. No one was with him under the tree when he saw the three men. The Holy Bible records,
“…he ran from the tent door to meet them.”
The running was not done by any of his servants but by himself.
To be hospitable, be directly and personally involved.

He was humble. In his hospitality service, he was humble. As rich or wealthy as Abraham was (Gen 13:1-4), he was humble to host three strangers. The Holy Bible records, “…and bowed himself to the ground.”   Verse 2d.
He bowed to people he never knew. What a sign of humility!
He welcome them reverendly, with all honor!

His wife was available for the hospitality service. He instructed Sarah, his wife thus,
“Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal, knead it
And make cakes.”   Gen 18:6.
He was not on his own. He involved his hearthrob. This shows his seriousness and genuiness in service.
His servants were also involved.. Abraham brought in the service of his servants. The Holy Scriptures reveals,
“And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf,
Gave it to a young man, and he hasten to prepare it”   verse seven”
Note that in your own case, you may not have servants. Instead, you can involve your friends’ services or those of your children,if any.

Pleading with the strangers. You can do like Abraham. The pleading words he employed were “my Lord, if I have now found favor in your sight,
Do not pass on by your servant.”     Verse three.

“Quickly” and “haste” are the watchward. Note that in hospitality, there is no room for delay. Note that these words were readily mentioned in verse six, seven. The key words are “quickly” “hurried”, “ran”, “hastened”. No foot-dragging. No time to waste.

Standing by. When everything was ready and the strangers were eating, Abraham did not abandon them. He stood nearby, in case they may have any other needs. He was available to serve them further. The Holy Bible records,
“So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had
Prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under
The tree as they ate.”   Verse eight.

The main purpose of hospitality must not be less than these three:
Rest for the soul of the strangers. Rest from their long journey, hunger, and so on.
Peace of mind. It must be to offer strangers peace of mind. Their heart must not be troubled. They must be well secuered.
Comfort round about. They must be very comfortable in every sense of the word
For all that Abraham did to express hospitable service to strangers, he got a better hope of fulfilment of a long-term promise. After meal, one said,
“I will certainly return to you according to the time of life,
And behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son”   Gen 18:10.   NKJV.
     This promise was fulfilled.
To involve yourself in hospitality is to bring nearer to fulfillment the long-term promise from your Father in heaven
Stay blessed and prepared for the coming of the Lord.

HOSPITALITY 1   Leave a comment

    “the stranger… you shall love him as yourself;
for you were strangers in the land of Egypt:
I am the Lord your God.”   Leviticus 19:34
    (New King James Version, NKJV)

The above instruction was directed at all the people of God. The Holy Scriptures contain such numerous instructions that are of immense value to the people of God. Obeying them has many benefits. It is regretable that the most criticised book in the world is the Holy Bible. These critics are from within and outside christendom.

Those inside are delibrate rebels or are ignorant of the true meaning and or value of God’s instructions. Those outside are either ignorant and are not ready to be educated or are sworn enemies of the truth.

There are nations today who feast fat by exploiting their tourism and hospitality potentials, Why can’t an individual reap same benefits from hospitality?. Hospitality remains one of  the keys in the hands of God’s people that can open doors of good things.

For the purpose of this piece, let me group hospitality into two, ditto
Temporary or seasonal

Permanent hospitality comes up where a stranger
purposes to dwell in a land with the settlers. The strangers may not depart for many years for different ressons. The host must show love to him. That is the reason, the Lord instructed the Jews in Leveticus 19:33-34 thus,
“And if a stranger dwells with you in your land,
     You shall not mistreat him.
The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you
as one born among you, and you  shall love him as youself,
for you were strangers in the land of Egypt:
I am the Lord your God.”   New Kings James Version (NKJV).

Temporary or seasonal hospitality arises where the
strangers stays for a season or time. This can be a few hours, days, weeks or months. It is even possible to extend into very few years.

The key word in acceptable hospitality is LOVE.
How does love start? What is the origin? The answer to this is God! How?  The Scriptures declares in 1John 4:16 thus,
“And we have known and believed the love that God has
for us, God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God,
     and God in him.”
It is only those who love the Lord “with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strenght” that can go ahead to demonstrate genuine love to their neighbors, including strangers. It is only this kind of people that can “love your neighbor as yourself.”  (read Mark 12:30-31.)

Do you abide in love to abide in God and God in you? This is the major condition to show hospitality.

Please, note that you are a stranger here on earth. You are here for a period of time. No matter how long you stay here, you will depart one day, what do you want to be remembered for? Please be hospitable!
In the same vein, pay attention to the fact that opulence does not dictate whether or not you must be hospitable. Register it in your heart that you have something (certain possessions) to demonstrate hospitality. This may be spiritual, physical, financial or social. It can be anything! Let me call your attention to the exhortation of Apostle Paul in Roman 12:1,
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,that
You present your bodies a living sacrifrice, holy, acceptable     to God,
Which is your reasonable service.”     NKJV
Henceforth offer reasonable services to the Lord sacrificially, and you will be rewarded bountifully.
What are the things involved to be genuinely hospitable are the things to examine in the next part of this writeup.
Stay blessed and prepared for the coming of the Lord.

Lamentation Of A Husband   Leave a comment

“If my wife knows that she is a direct beneficiary of my good vision, why does she fail to support it?”

These were the words of a husband whose wife “disappointed” him. What really happened?

The man is a retired worker in the private sector of the economy. He had spent all his life and income on the welfare of his household. The children were given the best in education to the pride of the family. In fact, these children can be called “the family investment”. The woman in the home (The home maker) has little contribution only known to her.

After the husband’s retirement, things were not as usual. The man’s income is almost zero in that all his take-home from every part-time work he is engaged in cannot meet the needs of the family. Yet, the woman is still gainfully employed in government service. Many times there are pockets of rifts between the couple in respect of caring for the family. They are able to handle them because of their fath in Christ and the husband’s maturity.

     The home-maker always claim,
“You are the head of the family, it is your sole responsibility to provide for your house-hold. No matter how rich I am, I must take from you.”

This has been her motto during the man’s service years and after retirement until now.

The husband loves to write and has written some books. He is trusting the Lord that He provides funds to publish them. He wants to introduce at least one of them into the market soonest.
One day, some time ago, about two month into 2016, the two were discussing about the first book to publish. The man disclosed what the production cost will be ditto other costs. He also disclosed the target market that can never fail as well as the proposed selling price and the profit margin on the first impression of the Book.

The wife was elated and she exclaimed,
“Infact, I have to co-ordinanate the finances and direct the profit(s) of the books.”
The husband looked at her with his index finger in his mouth inbetween his feet. “What’s happened?” the wife asked.
“So, you know that you are worthy to be in charge of the cash proceeds from the books. Why have you not supported the publication of these books. You know how I wanted $50,000 only to start it; after running up and down without success, I chose to wait until the Lord opens a door.”

“What are you driving at “she becomes anxious to know more.
“Good of you! Towards the year end of 2015, you obtained a loan of $200,000 which you spent the way you wanted”. The man explained.
     “What’s new in that.”
“Thank you , Don’t you know that if you had reserved $50,000 for the publication, at least on loan to me. You know I would repay you.”

This almost degenerated into another round of argument, but the man dowsed the fire of ember that would have been fanned.

Now, think on it, will she ever become the “Cash Director” she wanted? How soon would that be? Many people failed to realise that we are in partnership with God. He never fails to act well His own part but mankind truncate his own part. The book of Provebs states,
“Whosoever keeps the fig tree will eat
          its fruit,
So he who waits on his master will
          be honored.”    28:18. NKJV.

Every woman has been created to be a builder of a home. To build one is one thing but to  build a happy one is another. Do you hope to reap bountifully from your home? Be wise and supportive of other people’s visions. You will surely derive expected and unexpected benefits from doing so. Do not cheat yourself. Do not be a loser? People love to shift the blame that emanate from their faults on another person. Where there is no one on whom to do this, they hold God responsible. They blame Him instead and not themselves. Act well your part and do so on time.
Stay blessed and rapturable because the Lord is coming soon.

One plus one of God, as far as marriage is concerned, is equal to one. This can be compared to taking a tea spoonful from a sachet of salt and adding it to a tea cup of water from a big jar. The combination is neither salt nor water, it becomes a solution. This is what marriage is planned by the Initiator, God, to be. In few cases today, it remains so.

For a marriage to work the way the Lord designed it, no other short cut than for every individual involved in the project to observe the two mandatory principles involved. You are not wrong to call it the law of God for marriage. God’s own designed marriage involves each person from the opposite sex, that is made and female. Any other arrangement is from the kingdom of hell!

What then are the two principles of God for a successful marriage?

Leaving. The first step toward having a successful home is to leave. What are the things to leave? For a female, she must leave her
(a)land, (b) country (c)family (d)father’s house (e)old friends (f)old ways of living (g)god.
Ruth gives every woman a pattern, she said to her mother-in-law:
“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you,
For wherever you go, I will go,
      And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
      And your God, my God,
Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If  anything but death parts you and me.”  Ruth 1:6. (New King James Version, NKJV).
These words also corroborate the words of the Psalmist of Israel that counsels,
     “Listen, O daughter,
        consider and incline your ear,
Forget your own people also, and
        your father’s house,
So, the King will greatly desire your
     Because He is your Lord,
        Worship Him,”   Psalm 45:10-11.

Let me not fail to emphasize the importance of leaving former “god”. Ruth did not fail to abandon all gods in Moab to follow the God of Israel. Inability of Rachel to forget the “gods” of her father’s house was her undoing, the heartthrob of Jacob lost out because she did not live to see the greatness of her two children. She did not recognize the God of Jacob because she stole the “idols” of her father. Details are contained in Genesis chapter thirty one in verses thirty-four to thirty-five,

For a male, leaving is a commandment from the Lord that must be obeyed. The Holy Bible discloses,
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother
And be joined to his wife, and they shall became one flesh.”
     Genesis 2:24   NKJV.

Do you know that these words becomes evident in the words of Adam when Eve was made? He said,
“This is now (on the day of marriage) bone of my bones
      And flesh of my flesh,
      She shall be called Woman
Because she is taken out of man.”   Genesis 2:23.
As a man, is it possible to dismember parts of your body? Do you want your bones to be dislocated? Which part of your flesh do you want separated? It is possible to do either of these (God forbid) but it brings unbearable pains and discomfort.
A man must leave his father and mother to be joined to his wife.

Cleaving. This is the ultimate goal of marriage. After leaving
comes cleaving. Leaving without cleaving gives birth to loneliness which marriage was meant to crush. Loneliness is worse than cancer or AIDS. Fussing must come after leaving. this is not wrong, I think, that cleaving can be seen as loss of independence. The words of Apostle Paul on couples make this clear,
“The wife does not have authority over her own body,
but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not
have authority over his own body, but the wife does.”
                                                                           1Corinthians 7:4.

Cleaving is unity. Unity assures standing. Cleaving is oneness. It changes a spouse’s words from ‘I, my, me, mine.’ to ‘we, our, us, ours’. The words of Ruth is worth repeating here,
“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you,
For wherever you go, I will go,
      And whenever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
      And your God, my God,
Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”  Ruth 1:6.  NKJV.

Let me reiterate it here that cleaving is a spiritual issue. Malachi 2:14-15 confirms,
“…Because the Lord has been witness
Between you and the wife of your
      Yet she is your companion
      And your wife by convenant.
But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
      And why one?
      He seeks godly offspring.
Therefore take heed to your spirit
      And let none deal treacherously
with the wife of his youth.”   NKJV.

Cleaving is oneness of the Spirit. That is the reason Ruth’s statement “your God, my God” is the peak of her decision. This is in contrast to Rachel’s decision. She was never joined in the spirit with her husband. She loved the man but hated his God. She demonstrated this by stealing her father’s household idols and she protected them that her husband was not aware of her evil act.

Apostle Paul does not leave us in the dark when he emphasizes the Spiritual importance of “joining” or cleaving. He reveals,
“Or do you know that he who is joined to a harlot is one
body with her? For “the two,” (in marriage), he says, “shall
become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one
      Spirit with Him.”    1Cor 6 : 16-17.

This is the reason God, as the initiator of marriage, must be involved in your marriage. This translates that the husband and the wife must be joined with the Lord. He should be in the beginning, middle and end of their marriage. One of the reasons is that “He seeks godly offering(s) from the couple. If you do not want to disappoint your Creator and you want the end of your life to be pleasing, to God, leave and cleave to your God as well as your spouse. Love the Lord with everything you have as human being. Then love yourself. Demonstrate the love that you have towards God and yourself by loving your neighbors. Therefore, to have a successful marriage, be ready to leave and cleave.
Stay blessed and prepared because the Lord is coming soon.

Marital Costs   Leave a comment

I had the grace to listen to an interview granted a journalist by a widow on a radio station in Nigeria on Saturday September 24, 2016. During the period, the young interviewer wanted to know about how the widow met her late husband who was an artist who was interested in protecting his tribal culture.

According to the woman, she was a young lady who was ready for anything “fashion” from any society in the world. She was not ready to compromise her young lady’s lifestyle.

On the commencement of his love relationship with the young man, he told her, “You cannot dress anyhow. You cannot embrace any mode of dressing, from any part of the world. My artistic work centers on protection of our own culture. You cannot dress to contradict what we stand to protect. You have to adjust where necessary.

The woman said it was painful for her but because of the love she had for the man and what he stood for, she purposed to do away with her lifestyle to fit into his life and what he stood for.

This woman was able to enter into the man’s heart without any reservation(s). the man became one with her. He did not hide anything for her. This helps the woman to continue the man’s art-work after his demise thirty years ago.

I was impressed with the woman’s stories. All that she said contradicts what I have heard from some women in recent times.

     What can this be?

Many women have complained that the beginning of their love relationship with their husbands was rosy and something to be proud of. However, along the line, things started to fall apart and the centre of their love affairs cannot hold.

One question such women, and those who have the same dwindling love relationship, do not ask themselves is “What has this relationship cost me?” it is one easy thing to complain about your partner in love but very difficult to do a heart-search of yourself and this is very important. Certain women (and men) in love, have the erroneous believe that they are the ones to be loved, no matter their past lifestyle. They have no reason to bring in a positive change for the sake of the love they are into. Loving is a two-way affair. If someone sincerely loves you, the best thing to do is to love him (or her) in return.

Every marriage has costs. If yours does not cost you anything, your love for your partner is in doubt. I don’t think it is even wrong to tag yourself as “an opportunist” ready to exploit whoever is in love  with you.

     Do not be an exploiter!

Let me briefly share with you the testimony of a young woman.
This sister is re-married to another man. According to her, her immediate past lifestyle was excellently rough. She has these to say,
“I thank God that I am now married to my current husband. God has used him to put an end to previous lifestyle that may have swallowed me up. I really thank the Lord.”

Do you believe that you can have a positive testimony better than this? Do not be too rigid in doing what is not good. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Consider the words of your partner. See reasons with him or her. You may not know now, it will be to your own advantages and it will enhance your relationship.
Stay blessed and prepared for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
All Scriptures quoted are from New King James Version of the Holy Bible.

Great Miracle!   Leave a comment

Wonderful God

A Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife because she was reading the Bible and then buried her with their infant baby and an 8 year old daughter.

The girls were buried alive! then He reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 days later, another family member died. When they went to bury him, they found the 2 little girls under the sand – ALIVE!
هذه الحادثة أغضبت الناس و حكم على الرجل بالإعدام

The country is outraged over the incident, and the man will be executed.

The older girl was asked how she had survived and she says ‘A man wearing shiny clothes, with bleeding wounds in his hands, came every day to feed us. He woke up my mom so she could nurse my sister,’ she said.

She was interviewed on Egyptian National TV, by availed Muslim woman news anchor. She said on public TV, ‘This was none other than JESUS, because nobody else does things like this!’

Muslims believe Isa (JESUS) would do this, but the wounds mean He really was crucified, and it’s clear also that He is alive! But, it’s also clear that the child could not make up a story like this, and there is no way these children could have survived without a true miracle. Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure out what to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie doesn’t help! With Egypt at the centre of the media and education in the Middle East , you can be sure this story will spread.

السيد المس يح ما زال يقلب العالم رأسا على عقب! رجاء دع هذه القصة تنتشر بين الناس. يقول الله : ‘أنا سأبارك الشخص الذي يضع ثقته فيّ.’ أرميا 17.

Christ is still turning the world upside down! Please let this story be shared. The Lord says, ‘I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.’ Jeremiah 17..
رجاء أرسل هذه الرسالة إلى كل قائمتك والله سيكافئك بوفرة! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Please forward these to all on your list and GOD will reward you abundantly!!!!!!!!!!!
Please finish reading before you do anything else right now.
Read this to the end. My name is God. I know you will give your time for me. I love you and always bless you. I am always with you. I need you to spend 30 minutes of your time with me today. Don’t pray. Just praise. Today I want this message across the world before midnight. Will you help? Please do not cut it and I’ll help you with something that you are in need of. A blessing is coming your way. Please drop everything & pass it on. Tomorrow will be the Best Day of your Life. Send this to  friends Trust God.
