A Blessed Sinner?   Leave a comment

The words “Blessed Sinner.” were the inscription at the back of a young man’s garment. His words and walk displayed his pride in being a sinner who lacks nothing. He was putting on an attire of all black color. A sinner who is blessed. I saw this on the thirteen of July, twenty-twenty three.

It was not the words that worried me as such but the soul of the young man and that of his cohorts who are proud in their ignorance. Which ignorance? He and others like him are like a criminal who was sentenced to be executed but are rejoicing on the way to destruction.

Their thoughts are not in them only. The devil sometimes engage the heart of the righteous to think amiss. What do I mean? The righteous is, sometimes, envious of the seeming riches and wealth of the ungodly.

This was the case with the Song Writer in Psalm 73 when, according to him, he exhibited his foolishness verse 22. He was equating himself with the ungodly. There is no need for such comparison, even today. The ungodly and those who fear God are two parallel lines going to different directions and destinations.

The envious Psalmist finally reveals, “[26]My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
    but God remains the strength of my heart;
    he is mine forever.
[27]Those who desert him will perish,
for you destroy those who abandon you.
[28]But as for me, how good it is to be near God!
I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter,
and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.” Psalms 73, New Living Translation, NLT, of the Holy Bible.

Why should a Sinner be blessed? For the glory of God! How? While the sinner is busy flouting his riches around, the Lord may decide to use him for His growing Saints who may not be matured enough to handle riches and wealth. So, the right portions of the righteous and growing Saints will fall in place for them.

Not only that, at the appointed time, the Blessed Sinner will be eliminated for his possessions to be given to the righteous Saints.
His destruction will be sudden! Psalms 92 informs “[7]Though the wicked sprout like weeds
    and evildoers flourish,
    they will be destroyed forever.”

What will happen to what he left behind? The righteous Saints will take over to spend it for the glory of God.

Are you blessed as a sinner? Weep for yourself! It is because you are walking on a slippery terrain and your falling is sure; you may not know when that will be. Therefore, have a rethink! Acting independent of God will have grave consequences. You need to repent to have a perfect relationship with God and to retain your Blessings for long time and for the glory of the Lord.

It is possible that you are a Saint of Jesus Christ but you are surrounded by Blessed Sinners. With the wisdom of God, let them know that without repentance, there is a deep pit of destruction ahead. They should avoid falling into it. Let them know that they should not trust in their riches because they will not be able to save them on the day of wrath of God. Thanks and remain blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
