Value Your Servant 2   Leave a comment

Life is full of battles of various types, spiritual and physical. Some people are consumed in it while some people are overcomers. Some are not overcomers or consumed

become servants or slaves in the house of those who overcome them. This does not prevent them from placing value on them.

Reason?

The servant has a certain value(s) that can be of use in one form or another; now or in the future. This was the case with Naaman, a veteran warrior. As powerful as he was, he had a strong weakness, leprosy. His power could not conquer this.

A solution came from a young girl who was a captive. She had no power to fight battles which was why she became a captive in a strange land but she had a God who could health leprosy.
[3]One day the girl said to her mistress, “I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy.” 2 King’s 5, New Living Translation, NLT.

When she made the suggestion available, the mistress and the master were not power-drunk or intoxicated by position. They listened to the words of the female captive. It was unsolicited advice but valuable and they took it to act on it.

Naaman was blessed with a network of valuable servants.

When his personal “policies and principles” wanted to destroy him at the point of healing, another servant came in. He had his assume method of healing his leprosy which contradicted that of God of Israel. When he wanted to depart in anger without following the Prophet Elisha’s instructions, his servant said, “2 Kings 5:13-14
[13]But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!
[14]So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!”

He would have remained a leper throughout his life were it not for the valuable suggestions given to him by his servants.
What is your ailment spiritual, physical, or emotional? Do not underrate your servant’s suggestions. Value your servants and their valuable counsel. Let it be known that your position is not your making; it is by the grace of God. Do not arrogate any glory to yourself but give all glory to God in the highest. Those who are your servants are loaded with their God-given gifts. You can explore them by making yourself approachable and caring. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.

Value Your Servant 1.   Leave a comment

In life, every individual has a role to play in the timetable of God and His program. Therefore, no one is of no value to Him. Some were born great or to be great while some were born not to be so. Yet, they have a vacuum to fill in God’s scheme of things.

That is why the great should not belittle anyone they perceive as being of lesser value. Before the Creator, everyone is valuable.

You may have someone or some people who serve under you, please, take good care of them not only for God’s sake but for your own sake. Do you wonder why? You are right to ask.

I think you will agree with me that an engine, for instance, a car that is well maintained will work better and serve its owner for a longer period than one not taken care of properly.

If this happens to an engine, the same applies to human beings. A happy and healthy servant is a great material in the hands of his master.

The experience of a servant in the hands of his master teaches a great lesson. He was sick and abandoned in the wilderness by his master. He left him to his fate not knowing that he, the master, will pay with his life.

One of the reasons every servant must be valued by you is that every piece of information at the disposal of a servant is vital to your survival. This information may get to him officially or otherwise; it has a great effect on you, directly or indirectly. In the words of the servant,
“30:13 …And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me because three days ago I fell sick.” 1 Samuel.

It was the little information at the servant’s disposal that exposed the master to danger that put an end to his life. He knew the way his master has gone and he exposed it to the person who hunted for his life to claim it.

He secured his own life before he gave his uncaring master to his enemy. The Scriptures disclose,
“30:15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.” 1 Samuel.

What was the outcome of the uncaring master and his cohort, sudden destruction?
“30:16 And when he had brought him down, behold, they have spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.”
30:17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. 1 Samuel

What were they doing when destruction came? They were rejoicing! The master and his friends were destroyed but the wise servant survived.

May you not be a victim of your not caring for your servants in Jesus’ name. Do you say “Amen!”? Take care of your servants and you will reap from them and the Creator of all things will be happy at you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.

Flesh And Blood   Leave a comment

Flesh and blood form a major and essential part of every man. No man has life in him who lacks these two. Therefore, everyone who will live on Earth must possess these two vital parts.

On the other hand, these parts must not be allowed to dictate the ways of a man or how he runs his race in life. Otherwise, the results will be rueful, leaving the person to lick his fingers.

Why is this so?

As important as these parts are, both generate corrupt reasonings that are not always dependable for the good of a man.

Not only that, when there is any divine revelation, it is always beyond the comprehension of flesh and blood. If divine Revelation points to the right, the flesh will either condemn it or come up with entirely different options that will be of little or benefit to whom the revelation was directed. Divine revelations are always dented by flesh and blood.

It is not only interested in working against divine revelations, it cannot reveal any. This weakness became glaring when Peter declared the Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ. He had wanted to know Who they perceived Him to be. Flesh and blood came up with many wrong revelations. In fa,ct all disciples had something wrong to say about Who Jesus was to them, Matthew 16:13-17.

When Peter made Him known, “17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew(King James Version, KJV).

Flesh and blood raise objections to spiritual things and revelations which in turn work against the revelations of the Lord. Anytime suggestions of the flesh and blood are mixed with God’s pronouncements or revelations, the results are not tolerable.

Apostle Paul catches the picture right when he declared his decision about flesh and blood thus, “16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:” Galatians 1.

Beloved, watch and pray so that flesh and blood will not become the controllers of your life and destiny. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
